Malibu Guitar Festival 2016 Charity Benefit

Come down to the 2nd Annual Malibu Guitar Festival! This charity benefit will include live performances by Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Albert Lee, Robert Randolph, The Empty Hearts and many other amazing musicians! Grammy Awards 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year: Lionel Richie

John Charles is honored to be included in the list of donors for the "2016 MusiCares Person of the Year: Lionel Richie!"  MusiCares is an amazing safety net organization that helps musicians in many different ways during unexpected critical times of need. This event will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in conjunction with the 58th Annual Grammy Awards!  As part of the event, eight one of a kind REBELLION AND TRUTH framed "Limited Gold Edition (1/1)" fine art photos will be auctioned!  The eight photos will consist of Air Supply, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Kiss, Marilyn Manson, Nikki Sixx, Rob Halford, and Rob Zombie!

REBELLION AND TRUTH is honored to be a part of "NAMM JAM 2016!"  Five framed fine art prints will be included in the silent auction to benefit the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation!  One of the photos is of Alice Cooper on tour in 2014 and the others are of John 5 at various shows throughout 2015.  Only one of these prints has previously been shown publicly, the other four will be revealed for the first time Friday night!

Fire Tiger Album Art

Fire Tiger released an album called “Energy” last year and I’m stoked that one of my photos was featured as the center sticker (vinyl) & disc surface (CD)! I’ve seen Fire Tiger perform live a half dozen times and still want to go back for more! They are the perfect balance of a modern/retro eighties rock sound with strong vocals, music and songwriting start to finish! Go give this album a listen! 

Craw & The Salvation Highway Band

Craw NeQuent (Texas Hippie Coalition, All Hail The Yeti) just released a solo album and I am proud to say REBELLION AND TRUTH was a part of it!  John Charles did all photography and graphic design for this amazing album!  …cajun country blues with a hard rock edge at it’s finest!  Well done Craw & The Salvation Highway Band!

I am honored to have one of my paintings included in a delightful new book called "The Children's Voice: A Definitive Collection of Welsh Nursery Rhymes" written by Peter Anthony Freeman and published by A Raven Above Press.

Book Release Party for 'The Children's Voice: A Definitive Collection of Welsh Nursery Rhymes' by Peter Anthony Freeman

Join us at the St. David's Day Festival for the official release party of 'The Children's Voice: A Definitive Collection of Welsh Nursery Rhymes' by Peter Anthony Freeman! 

Peter will be reading from the book at 12 and available for signings at the table for A Raven Above Press & Rorshoq Books directly after. 

The Children's Voice features over 27 different artists from the US and Wales bridged together to create the most cherished and timeless Welsh nursery rhyme book imagined. 

The Children's Voice includes an all-star cast of illustrators from Nathan Wyburn (Abergavenny, UK) jamming Y Broga Bach on toast, Anthony Richards of (Ammanford, UK) dripping Bwrw Glaw, and Siobhan Owen rendering Fuoch chi Rioed yn Morio?, and many more! 

Freeman is at his best revealing the origin and background of the Welsh rhymes, providing the reader with meaningful insight into Welsh family dynamics and how social and economic factors impacted the roots of the stories told.

Season Of The Witch Art Show

I am honored to have one of my paintings included in the Stella Mayfair's 'Season of the Witch' Cocktail Party and Art Auction in New Orleans this Halloween weekend.

This event is one evening only... Saturday, October 29th from 5:00p to 7:00p, but it is part of an amazing weekend of events held by the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club, including the Theatre of the Vampires Ball and Undead Con. The ARVLFC is group of kindred spirits that I have sincerely come to love and respect over the years. I have been attending and supporting their events for well over a decade, so trust me when I tell you that this will be a very cool night to remember.

The piece I'm donating has been created specifically for this event... if you dig my art and you're into gothic/vampire culture, then I urge you to come check it out! Enjoy some great wine and art, meet some cool people, and have a laugh or two with yours truly.

2011 West Coast Eisteddfod: Welsh Festival of Arts
Sept 23-25th
at the Barnsdall Art Park, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, 90027

Come celebrate Welsh culture with a free outdoor festival encompassing Welsh food and drink, traditional and contemporary music, lectures, crafts, classes including Welsh language instruction, Welsh mythology art show, Celtic marketplace, demonstrations in rugby, Welsh Corgis, genealogy, storytelling, meet the Red Dragon of Wales, Welsh-American traveling exhibit, tours of the Hollyhock House created by Welsh-American Frank Lloyd Wright, and much more!
